I just started doing hypertufa and I'm confused about several things in your blog.

You use a steel brush and rough up the sides of your projects? How long should they set up first? What type of brush?

How do you carve details into the sides, and how long should they set up first? Would you do that at the same time as when you rough up the outsides?

How do you install the pond liner when making a water feature? Are you going to do a more in-depth description at some point for us newbies?

I'd appreciate any advise you can give.

Thanks, Julie

Thanks!

Yeah we think it turned out pretty ...

Thanks!

Yeah we think it turned out pretty good too. What we did was just used some previous forms we built really and added on a few pieces to give it some more shape really. It's all about playing with your idea and sometimes adding things as you go to see how it works.

We've seen great fountains on the internet and just kind of added our own twist to it. Everything you see on this blog has been created by making our own forms and designs. Sometimes we use other ones and use them with new ideas. It's really fun working with hypertufa! The possibilities are endless on what you can actually do with it.

We can't wait either to finish this one. As soon as we finish it, I will be sure to upload them here for you all to see. For the middle part of this pilar for instance we plan on making a couple more pieces and adding more detail and design to it. You'll see with the photos when we upload them.

Talk to you later,

Jamie Boyle
Hypertufa Gardening

Wow.
