I'm glad you enjoyed them and our hypertufa blog.

For your hypertufa fountain that you are going to do you can use Pond Paint - Neoprene Rubber Coating. All you need to do is go on Google and do a search for "rubber liner paint for ponds", "rubber paint", " pond paint" and this will give you a good bunch of suppliers who will sell rubber liquid paint for creating hypertufa fountains or ponds. You see this stuff is used for building ponds, after all the cement blocks are laid and puty in place then they paint it with this rubber coating to prevent leaks. A good thing with using this stuff is that is safe for both fish and plants.

I know a business contact of mine Clarke Koi Ponds in Toronto Canada sells "Liquid Liner" that you can buy in both 1 gallon and 5 gallon containers. Maybe worth a shot or find a local person in your area who sell Liquid Rubber.

As for the basement waterprrofing paint I'm not sure if that would work or not. We've never tried it but we may try it just to let you know and our other readers. The silicone sealer would work just as long as it bonds to the hypertufa.

The good thing with hypertufa is that it's trial and error, I'd give it a shot as the liquid liner can be expensive at $49.00 for 1 gallon and $185 for 5 gallons of liquid liner.

Let me know if you try it and if it works. I know we've been working on some more hypertufa projects that people can create to cover up the well pipe sticking up in their yards. So we hope to have more on this blog soon.

Thanks again for the wonderful feedback. It's always nice hearing back from our readers. Thanks again Anne.

Oh by the way Anne, is this your first hypertufa project your going to do or have you made other things with hypertufa such as pots etc..?

Hope to hear from you soon. Good luck on your hypertufa fountain project!

Sincerely,

Jamie Boyle
Hypertufa Gardener

thanks for this great blog!
